The Alienware 34 QD-OLED is currently one of the top gaming monitors on the market, but its constant warnings about OLED burn-in are causing concern for wider adoption of the technology. While burn-in remains a debated topic with no clear solution, manufacturers need to find new ways to test their products and educate their customers to alleviate fears and prevent scaremongering. OLED panels are not cheap, and users want to enjoy them without the risk of ruining them. While monitor brands want to sell their product, constant reminders about burn-in make the technology seem fragile when, in reality, the practical risk to normal users is very low. It’s time for the industry to address this marketing problem and find ways to bring down the fear that surrounds OLED burn-in.
