Meta’s Horizon Worlds VR social network is introducing in-game quests to offer players incentives to revisit experiences. The new quests, currently in testing in a mini-golf experience named Giant Mini Paddle Golf, will reward players with nautically-themed avatar clothing and other prizes for completing tasks. The move is aimed at keeping Quest headset users engaged with the platform and encouraging them to explore more of its VR worlds. However, it is also feared that large brands may use the quests to promote themselves in Meta’s metaverse, and some experts warn that quests might become a double-edged sword.
