Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes that the tech giant will soon release a USB-C version of its second-generation AirPods Pro. According to Kuo, the new models are expected to be shipped during Q2 and Q3 of 2022. However, Kuo notes that there are currently no plans for USB-C versions of Apple’s standard AirPod models. Kuo hinted at the change in response to a tweet from a Twitter user who had spotted references to a new AirPods model number (A3048) and a new AirPods case model number (A29680) in iOS 16.4.
The second-generation AirPods Pros were launched by Apple in September 2021, and they come with a Lightning port and compatibility with MagSafe, Qi, and Apple Watch chargers. In addition, the case also has a couple of new features, including a speaker that emits a noise when locating them with the Find My app, as well as a built-in loop where a lanyard can be attached.
